In RV, Robin Williams plays Bob Munro, an overworked, under-appreciated husband and father. When his slime-ball boss orders him to make a presentation for a company they're trying to acquire, rather than cancel his vacation with his family, he decides to take them along ... in a motor home. Along the way his thankless kids grow to appreciate him and he learns that there's more to life than work.

Williams has a reputation for being a comic machine. Give him a theme and he'll run with it, improvising at a rate that defies comprehension. Unfortunately, there's not much of that in this movie. There's a little, as can be seen from the extra features on the DVD, but not nearly enough.

Still, even without Robin Williams in full genius mode, the movie stands pretty well on its own. Josh Hutcherson and Joanna 'JoJo' Levesque perform very well as Robin's two teenage kids, Carl and Cassie. (Did you know that JoJo is some sort of teen pop-star? Maybe I'm just getting old. Or maybe her star has already faded. Oh, wait. No. I just checked. Her star is still burning bright and I am just getting old.)

Almost as funny as Robin is Jeff Daniels and Kristin Chenoweth as the Gornickes, a couple that live in their RV along with their three kids. (Daniels actually drove his own RV to the shoot in Vancouver.)

Great lines:
Cassie Munro: Maybe we can feed Carl to the raccoon.
Carl Munro: Maybe we can feed him you, he might be on the south bitch diet.
Bob Munro: That's a good one son.
