I was experimenting with the idea of telling a story in a painting or at least getting the viewer to think about what he was viewing. I thought I would start small and so played around with this picture. I hope that this painting leaves you with a little mystery. What was broken? I'm not sure if it works or not but it is an interesting effect. Although the scene is a little tragic -- that something was broken -- the colors provide a calming feeling. And the dots of color give the idea of a party or festivities. -- SS
