The Carnival is the place for a winter reunion with the family! This Carnival has many activities to keep you busy and warm including three spas and a sauna for a moment of winter relaxation! Enjoy Beaver Tails sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon, sledding, snow-tubing, European hot dogs, night parades, Normandin soapbox derby exhibit, fireworks, skating, sleigh rides, snow sculpture workshop, sugar shack, snow sculpture competition, Uniprix ice slide, and even winter camping.

The Jekyll Island Authority hosts this event, a unique treasure hunting experience on Georgia's most popular public beach. The treasures are hand-crafted glass floats, called Island Treasures and mimic glass floats once used on the fishing nets of fishermen in the early 1900s. Each is unique and stamped for the lucky beachcomber who finds one. Treasure finders can register their Island Treasure at the Jekyll Island Visitor Information Center to receive a bio on the artist and a certificate of authenticity and an array of floats and other colorful glass creations for purchase in-store.

The Exhibition takes you on a journey back in time to experience the legend of Titanic. The galleries in this fascinating Exhibition feature over 150 real artifacts recovered from the ocean floor along with room re-creations and personal stories; each highlighting a different chapter in the compelling story of Titanic's maiden voyage. Upon entering the exhibit visitors each receive a replica boarding pass of an actual passenger aboard Titanic. You’ll begin with a chronological journey through the life of Titanic, moving through the Ship’s construction, to life on board, to the ill-fated sinking and amazing artifact rescue efforts.

Located at only 10 minutes from downtown Quebec City, the Hotel de Glace is a must-see attraction to discover each winter. Unique in America, the Hotel de Glace has seduced over half a million people around the world since its opening in 2001. With its huge snow vaults and its crystalline ice sculptures, the Hotel de Glace impresses by its dazzling decor. From January 6th until March 25th, 2012, enter this magical universe and live an incredible experience by visiting this ephemeral work of art.

In Parc Jean-Drapeau, you will have the exclusive opportunity to visit a replica of the great City of Montreal entirely made out of ice and snow. The Snow Village also presents numerous monuments and buildings. A visit to the Snow Village is an absolute must. With its natural light during daytime, and its architectural light effects at night. This distinctive concept includes an Ice Hotel with prestige suites, igloos, a heated glass igloo, a restaurant, all made out of ice. We look forward to seeing you!

From the breathtaking dream worlds of The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, to the comic-book realms of Bulletproof Monk and Defendor to the delicously gory dystopia of Repo! The genre of sci-fi horror and fantasy have had a long history in Canadian film, and over the decades Canadian costume designers and craftspeople have made outstanding contributions in bringing these otherworldly visions to life. We present such visions to our audiences in this new exhibition in the Canadian Film Gallery. Get ready to explore and celebrate some of the most fantactical achievements in Canadian costume design.

First they get you with the taste and then the tales! Our patrons laugh, sing and dance to the bravo musical entertainment. Participants sample with much glee pub food paired for this event from regional cultural favorites to international culinary exotics. The annual Mushers' Rendezvous in Preeceville will be held on February 3, 4, and 5, 2012, all starting at the Preeceville and District Skating Arena. It is a world-class event featuring six and 10 sled dog races. The fun weekend will include a lot more for the whole family: a talent show, fireworks, suppers, dances, hockey games and some exciting events for children. It will truly be a memorable event to attend!

Celebrate the joys of winter at Winterlude, with three fun-filled weekends in February. Canada's favourite winter activities are featured across Ottawa and Gatineau at this annual event. Skate on the world's largest skating rink, check out the ice sculpture competitions or play at North America's largest snow playground. There's fun for the entire family, and all sites are open on Family Day.

Toronto's International Centre will, once again, host the Largest Indoor Farm and Equipment Show in Canada! The 26th edition of the Canadian International Farm Show returns to the International Centre in Mississauga and will be showcasing all of the leaders of Canada's thriving AG market. Big Iron, the latest technology, equipment and services will be featured.

The Winter Lights Festival is designed to be an annual event to stimulate and enliven city life in the midwinter. The Festival celebrates both the winter and the growing light after a long period of darkness. The program is a mixture of art and industry, environment and history, sports and culture; the events will provide entertainment for both the inhabitants and visitors to Reykjavík. The Reykjavík Winter Lights Festival is an event to be enjoyed by all. The programme reflects the many faces of Reykjavík and its inhabitants.

Showcasing the best in surfing, skate, music, fashion and art, the Australian Open of Surfing is an extension of the world's largest action sports festival, the US Open of Surfing. The world's top male and female competitors are expected to be lured to the event, which will carry a six-star rating on the Association of Surfing Professionals ranking system and come with a total prize pool of $500,000 across surfing and skating events. The final fixture on the World Junior Championship Tour will be moved from Narrabeen to Manly to coincide with the new open titles.

Dog sled rides will be available for children so they can take a spin around the track on an authentic dog sled. Have your photo taken with Alaskan Malamute puppies at the Atrium in Waterloo City Hall. Visit the Button Factory where you will create masks of your favourite animals. Watch a block of ice be magically transformed! Ice Sculptures will be located at the Public Square and various locations. Free face painting will be available at Bauer Marketplace.

Mount Vernon's tour showcases behind-the-scenes filming of the blockbuster movie "National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets" at Mount Vernon. Offered daily, the National Treasure Tour combines Hollywood and history, giving visitors stories about the filming and also information on how the locations were used during George Washington's time. Included in this approximately hour-long walking tour is the Mansion's basement and cornerstone, the setting for a pivotal scene. Fans of the movie will recognize the space as the location where Nicolas Cage's character kidnaps the president. This tour costs in addition to Estate admission.

If you like mussels you've come to the right event. We have mussel cooking demonstrations, mussel farm tours, mussel chowder tasting, a beer garden, children's activities, sailing adventures, mussel eating competition, studio tour, late night downtown shopping, and free mussel shuttles to help you get around. The studio tour features 28 artists at 21 different locations.

Celebrate Canberra's 99th birthday and the city's culture and people through 17 days of amazing events across the ACT region. The Canberra Festival reflects the city's unique qualities through exhibitions, displays, sports, music, film, dance and theatre. Highlights include the new look ENLIGHTEN (March 2, 3 and 9, 10), short film competition Lights! Canberra! Action! (March 9), the stunning Balloon Spectacular (March 10 to 18), the popular Celebrate in the Park (March 12), Symphony in the Park (March 11) and Telstra Ballet in the Park (March 16) which celebrates 50 years of the Australian Ballet.

WOMAD is the World of Music, Arts & Dance. WOMADelaide began in 1992 and has gone on to become one of Australia's favourite festivals; the 2010 festival attracted 81,500 attendances over four days (not including children 12 and under, who are admitted free). The program features performances and workshops on seven stages by the world's best musicians, dancers, and DJs, alongside street theatre artists and visual artists. Also included are the popular Taste the World cooking program, Artists in Conversations sessions, and an All-Star Gala finale, plus around 100 food, crafts and display stalls, and a KidZone.

This is a festival of live music and an exploration of the pygmy forest and fern trails of the VanDAmm State Park. There are also whale watching walks to view the majestic California grey whales, and many other interesting experiences such as tasting the local wines paired with tasty hor d'oeuvres, exploring the coast in a kayak tour, learning from talented photographers in a photography workshop, and checking out the art studios nestled in the redwoods.

Stars like Michael Winslow and Doug Stanhope from the US, household names like Dara O'Briain and Ardal O'Hanlon, and top Scots like Jerry Sadowitz, Rory Bremner and rising star Daniel Sloss. There are some great events to look out for too from the Legendary Arnold Brown interviews to our charity gala for Palestine with Frankie Boyle and Gary Tank Commander. The three-day event features a tasty selection of gourmet foods, wines, beers, and spirits, as well as interactive and educational events within the event. At this event you can sample wine, beer and spirits from around the world, on multiple stages delicious food and drink ideas will be served up, experience mouth-watering culinary and wine pairings. You will also discover tons of educational topics and expert advice and hundreds of new and unique products, recipes and pairing options.

Six Acres of stunning creative gardens in a dazzling display of colour, texture and fragrance and over 200 hours of free lectures, gardening demonstrations and talks with the stars of the gardening and horticultural world. We also have Canada's Largest Floral Competition, vote for your favorite garden, and "Ask The Expert" Gazebo where your gardening questions will be answered. A childrens area is provided for young gardeners and Twinings Tea Tastings.

This is a festival of live music and a crafts fair with many handmade treasures to purchase. On Saturday there is the added bonus of sampling chowder from the best chefs on the coast and beer tasting from the variety of micro-breweries from many different areas. Enjoy!

Tours of a real operating sugar bush. Join us in the Pancake Tent were you can enjoy hot, fresh, golden pancakes dripping with delicious pure maple syrup. We also have an Outdoor Mall located on Arthur Street in downtown Elmira, visit one of our many unique craft vendors, craft makers and artisans are on hand to help you and do not miss the live quilting demonstrations. In the Dan Snyder Arena is our pancake flipping contest, watch as local celebrities, and politicians compete. In the Lions Hall next door is our annual toy show, don't forget to pick up our annual toy collectible bank.

The week begins with a re-enactment of the journey by pony trap and sidecar from Lahardane to Castlebar station on Sunday 8 April. An American Wake will take place in Lahardane community centre during the week. The Mayo Titanic Ball for 300 people in Pontoon Bridge Hotel is on the night of Friday 13 April, followed by the annual bell ringing ceremony on Sunday 15 April at 2.20am. The week closes with the official opening of the Mayo Titanic Memorial Park, burial of the Time Capsule, and an unveiling of two stained glass windows.

Kalakaua Avenue is closed to car traffic for the event, and two entertainment stages are set up on the street. Two merchandise tents will be selling Spam-themed items including t-shirts, shorts, sport balls, and slippers. Since the Waikiki Spam Jam Festival attracts many families, there is also a popular family tent with a variety of games and prizes.

The SR initiative is public platform to promote science awareness by engaging and transforming the general public from passive supporters of science and technology to active and passionate champions whom develop a basicunderstanding of the important role science plays in our rapidly changing world. Science Rendezvous is designed to bring science and its practitioners face-to-face with the public. Science Rendezvous strives to encourage a public understanding that science affects their daily lives and that it is a worthy educational and career path for our youth.

For 17 days, we have prepared a selection of the best from Czech breweries, chefs, butchers and bakers for you. You’ll have the chance to taste more than 70 brands of Czech beer, always in top quality in glass pitchers. 200 girls and boys in Czech national costumes will be your servers in one of three large-scale tents with a total seating capacity of 10,000. Each tent has its own stage with colorful entertainment programs. The festival has its own special currency, the Tolar. It helps to speed up the payment process and the service provided to you.

The CFC Worldwide Short Film Festival is the premier venue for the exhibition and promotion of short film in North America. With annual submissions that surpass 4000, expert programmers specially select 250 shorts from more than 80 countries for five days of public screenings. As one of only three festivals in Canada accredited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, winners of the Best Live-Action Short and Best Animated Short are eligible for the Academy Awards; while the Canadian award winners are eligible for the Genie Awards.

The Pan-Pacific Festival opens with the Ho'olaule'a (block party) and closes with the Parade on Kalakaua Avenue. A section of Waikiki Beach near the Duke Kahanamoku statue, under a majestic banyan tree is the location of an outdoor stage and many hula concerts and performances. Both the Royal Hawaiian Center in the heart of Waikiki and the Ala Moana Center, are locations of the Performing Arts Showcases.

The objectives of the Fraser's Hill International Bird Race are to preserve nature and simultaneously to promote Fraser's Hill as a bird sanctuary. Large species of mountain birds thrive comfortably here, and at certain times of the year, migratory birds make their presence felt, although briefly. The competition will be divided into three distinctive categories - the advanced category for the serious and experienced bird watchers, the novice category for those who just take up bird watching out of curiosity or treat bird watching as an academic hobby, and the local category for the local residents.

Under the theme "Unearthing our Past and Future" the IGC will showcase the Oceania region's geoscience strengths, innovations, and natural wonders, through an exciting range of pre and post Congress field trips. High level political and scientific support secured in Australia and New Zealand for the Congress will underpin this outstanding event.

AUSTRALIA 2012 will include a GeoExpo, an education outreach program, and a support program to encourage young delegates to attend. The IGC will demonstrate the crucial role that geoscience plays in the quest for sustainable development and show how geoscience contributes directly to the future of its resource-based industries, land and water management, and mitigation of geohazards.

JAWSFEST: The Tribute will be a three-day fan-centric event exploring the experiences, filming, and memories from the making of the movie JAWS. The tribute will concentrate on the men and women of JAWS who have passed, with special focus on Peter Benchley, Roy Scheider, and Robert Shaw. We are inviting fans, families, cast, and crew to join us in Amity (Martha’s Vineyard) to share their personal stories, memorabilia, and experiences. This event will explore how the making of JAWS has impacted the lives of those who came to Amity in 1974 and how the blockbuster film they created continues to impact lives today.

The 16th biennial meeting for the Society for Free Radical Research International (SFRRI) will be held at Imperial College London in the heart of South Kensington in London. This meeting will be a premier forum for the latest advancements in free radical research. International experts from a broad range of disciplines including chemistry, biology and medicine will gather in 2012 to discuss the impact of current research, concepts and applications of free radicals and antioxidants in medicine and pharmaceutical industry.

The exciting scientific programme features morning plenary lectures, followed by afternoon parallel themed sessions as well as early evening poster presentations. Spanning four days, the meeting will bring together over 800 of your peers giving you a unique chance to network and interact with your international colleagues.

Each September, Galway City comes alive with seafood & oysters as it celebrates the Galway International Oyster & Seafood Festival, the most internationally recognised food festival in Ireland and the world's longest running International Oyster Festival. Car enthusiasts from over 39 states and Canada drive to the Mississippi Gulf Coast once a year to showcase their rides and to cruise our beautiful 30-mile stretch of beachside highway with designated stops in Bay St. Louis, Biloxi, D'Iberville, Gulfport, and Ocean Springs. Each venue is set up as a mini festival with a stage for live bands, reserved parking for registered cruisers, spectator parking, and vendors for food and event merchandise. Our week long event includes cruise-ins, a VA Hospital Cruise, car auction, swap meet, car corral, and a parade. Spectators are welcome and will find that our cruisers love to talk old cars.
