Bermuda General Agency has purchased two 20 MW wave parks from Seabased AB of Sweden. The company hopes to pivot the power source of the Caribbean islands from fossil fuels to renewable, sustainable energy from the ocean waves to the grid.


FORESEA Opens Third Call For Offshore Renewable Energy Technologies

EC-OG Switches on Subsea Power Hub unit

Aberdeen engineering firm EC-OG has successfully deployed its Subsea Power Hub at the European Marine Energy Centre’s (EMEC’s) Shapinsay Sound test site. The unit is a delta array of turbines or Ocean Generation modules. Each module is an underwater consisting of a turbine, generator, battery pack, and electrical conditioning system.



Scotrenewables Tidal Power Launches World’s Largest Tidal Turbine

Orkney based Scotrenewables Tidal Power has launched its 2MW SR2000, the world’s largest energy generating tidal turbine. The company, which is at the forefront of the floating tidal technology sector, launched the 550 tonne machine at Harland & Wolff Heavy Industries Ltd in Belfast on Thursday May 12th.


Tocardo to Test 20-Year T2 Tidal Array at EMEC

Tidal energy company Tocardo has signed up to demonstrate a 20 year ore-commercial array at the European Marine Energy Centre in Orkney. The contract was signed at the International Conference for Ocean Energy (ICOE) being held in Edinburgh this week.
